Last week, two of our very own Bibs, Eli and Brendan, ventured down south to San Antonio, Texas for the 2013 ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) Conference. The conference had more than 15,000 attendees interested in technology and what’s learning about what’s new in the ed tech space.
Eli and Brendan had four jam-packed days, which included seeing familiar faces and meeting new friends. In addition to talking about EasyBib, they got the chance to present our new information literacy instruction and assessment platform, ResearchReady.
Here are some of the highlights that made going to ISTE a rewarding experience:
Everyone was a fan of our EasyBib and ResearchReady stickers and bookmarks, which had a link to our free mobile app, including Google Certified Teacher and New Media Consortium K-12 Ambassador, Alice Keeler.
We also met with representatives from Mackin where we talked about our integration with Mackin VIA. Students can use the integration to easily cite their Mackin eBooks with one click! This is a great way for younger students to establish citation habits.
We were very fortunate that Google allowed EasyBib to present at their booth to show off EasyBib’s integration with Google Apps for Education. Influential teacher-librarian/blogger, Shannon Miller, was there and helped promote ResearchReady.
Since it was Brendan and Eli’s first trip to San Antonio, they took in the surroundings by going to the Riverwalk and Alamo. Of course, they couldn’t miss going to Barriba Cantina for some TexMex.
Many thanks to Shannon, Alice, Google, Mackin and everyone visited the Easybib/ResearchReady booth– you made our trip to ISTE 2013 a great one
